Two big-time subjects that are sure to boost your confidence and your fish count!
Arbor Anglers is pleased to welcome Ben McGee and his treasure chest of knowledge with aquatic macroinvertebrates to host this one-of-a-kind educational experience and fly tying demonstration. Ben is a career scientist in the fields of monitoring aquatic ecosystem health and trout habitat characterization. He has also been one of CO's top euro-style fly fishing instructors and an innovative fly tyer for over a decade.
Entomology: We will quickly cover the basics of Order, Family, Genus and species. More specifically, dive into details about different life stages, bug behavior at these stages, and the most common misrepresentations and or misconceptions of the fly angling community. We will explore some excellent bug resources and reference information that will help amplify your fly fishing game. This entomology demonstration is suitable for all anglers, novice to professional.
European nymphs: We will focus mostly on the utility and versatility of the Perdigon. How a few simple ingredients and tying techniques can make something so magically effective, adding color spectrum depth and texture to your nymphs. How we use "feedback flies" to promote an "any river, any day" angler mentality. This euro nymph tying demonstration is suited for all anglers, novice to professional.
