Known for explosive eats, hard fights, aerial jumps, and raw power, Golden Dorado are not passive fish. They are apex predators, and this trip is built for anglers who want an active, high-energy freshwater experience unlike anything they will find on a traditional trout trip.
This hosted program is designed around Set Fly Fishing’s Golden Dorado Combo, giving anglers access to two out of three distinct fisheries in one week: Jetu’u Lodge for action, La Alondra’i for wild wetlands, and/or Itati Lodge for trophy-class opportunities.

The Golden Dorado Combo is available during peak season, September through May, and combines two fisheries in one trip: Action + Wild, Wild + Trophy, or Action + Trophy.
Why This Trip
Golden Dorado fishing is visual, aggressive, and intense. These fish are known for violent strikes, strong runs, jumping fights, and the ability to humble even experienced anglers.
This is not a quiet trout trip. It is a trip for anglers who want to cast streamers, strip-set hard, stay focused, and be ready when a golden predator attacks.
The strength of this program is variety. Depending on the final lodge combination, anglers may experience wetland channels, clear-water marsh systems, the middle Paraná River, or the Upper Paraná — each offering a different style of Golden Dorado fishing. Jetu’u is known for action and accessibility, La Alondra’i offers a wild Ibera Wetlands experience, and Itati focuses on trophy opportunities on the Upper Paraná River.
