The Boulder Creek Path: The Iconic Loop
Distance: ~7.2 miles (Out & Back or Loop options)
Time: 1.5 – 2 Hours
The Vibe: Low effort, high reward.
The Route: Starting at the mouth of Boulder Canyon (Eben G. Fine Park), this paved path winds alongside the rushing waters of Boulder Creek. You’ll glide through the heart of downtown, past the University of Colorado campus, and under towering cottonwoods. It’s mostly flat with a gentle downhill tilt on the way back—perfect for families who want to stop for ice cream on Pearl Street mid-ride.
The Coal Creek Trail: Lafayette’s Hidden Gem
Distance: 8 – 14 miles (Customizable)
Time: 2 – 3 Hours
The Vibe: High-plains beauty and quiet vistas.
The Route: Forget the traffic. This soft-surface (crushed gravel) trail offers wide-open views of the Flatirons and weaves through the scenic corridors of Lafayette, Louisville, and Erie. It’s a “local’s favorite” for a reason—keep an eye out for bald eagles and red-tailed hawks. Since you’re on an e-bike, those rolling hills feel like flat pavement.
