Preston
Preston is a third-generation fly fisherman who grew up hunting and fishing the fields and waters of eastern North Carolina. His love for fly fishing was inspired early on by his grandfather, who often reminded his fishing buddies that fishing with the “long rod” was a far nobler pursuit than slinging spinning baits.
After moving to Colorado 30 years ago, Preston has spent nearly every available moment away from his civil engineering career chasing trout on the fly throughout the western United States. He also enjoys traveling south of the border to pursue saltwater species with a fly rod.
For Preston, the greatest reward in guiding is watching the excitement on a client’s face when everything comes together—especially when they finally land the fish they’ve been working toward all day.
